Lastly, to my readers who are 50 and above, again no, I don't think you are old. But I do want to be a good girlfriend and share with you...
8 Game-Changing Makeup Tips For
Women Over 30
Tip #1 Makeup Looks Best On A Healthy Canvas
My pride and joy is making my clients' skin look flawless. Guess how I do that? By properly prepping the skin. Your makeup will only look as good as the state of your skin. Sure you can pile on foundation, bronzer and highlight that will create an instagram worthy look. But I'm talking about the type of skin that glows from within. You know that dewy, radiant complexion that not only looks good in pictures but also in person.
There are 3 things you need to remember as a women 30 and over.... 1.) Always remove your makeup at night and exfoliate your skin. 2.) Moisturize your skin. 3.) Apply sunscreen. For a full review of the proper order on how to apply your skincare check out this post here. If you are wanting / needing a little extra boost for you skin, read my reviews on the IPL treatment, the Clear and Brilliant treatment, and or the Halo Treatment.
Tip #2 Start With a Primer
Ladies, a primer is your best friend. You know those days when you look in the mirror at 11am and you think, "where did all of my makeup go?" or when your eyeliner ends up on your entire eyelid or when your mascara smudges under your eye. Well buy a primer and you are good as gold. Primers are great for smoothing over fine lines and create an even base for your makeup. Make sure to choose a primer that is best for your skin (dry, normal, oily) and for your skin concerns (redness, fine lines, dullness, large pores, etc).

Tip #3 Know Your Skin Type
Remember Rule #1, Your Skin Comes First? Well, in order to take care of you skin and buy the proper skincare and makeup products you need to know what type of skin you have (normal, dry, oily). If you don't know what your skin type is, click here to figure it out.
Tip #4 Ditch the Powder
Powder tends to make the skin look dried out and can define/highlight thoes fine lines. Use cream-based makeup to hydrate and create a dewy glow. But remember tip #3, Know your skin type. If you have very oily skin you may want to stick with the powder.
Tip #5 Give Your Brows Some Love
Brows have been making a major comeback over the past few years, and for good reason. Filling in your brows can instantly elevate your look. Keep your brows well groomed and use a brow brush to fill in the gaps, using lightweight strokes. For a more natural look choose a color that is lighter than your brow color. Remember your brows are sisters not twins.
Tip #6 Go Nude
Go Nude - On your lips! Lips thin as we get older, but natural-looking lipstick can help your lips look fuller. Also, make sure to keep your lips moisturized!
Tip #7 Invest In Quality Products
Now that you are in your 30s and above, it's time to invest in quality makeup products. Why? Because your skin deserves it. Just like you can create a capsule wardrobe (a minimized wardrobe) you can do the same for your makeup bag. Buy quality products vs quantity. Your skin is exposed to all sorts of negative influencers all day, from your diet to air pollution. Do you really want to expose it to poor makeup formulas too?
Tip #8 Get Professional Advise
Lastly, one of the best ways to make sure your look is current is to schedule a consultation with a makeup artist. If you don't feel confident on how to apply your makeup or you need assistance on what products to buy that would be best for your skin type and skin concerns seek professional advise.
